A new elementary feature of vision.

چکیده
Humans can discriminate among elementary features such as orientation, color, and depth in parallel. The author showed that discontinuities in lines, such as a vernier offset, can be detected in a flash presentation with subsequent mask, and an offset, even below the diameter of foveal photoreceptors, is identified among distractors. This result suggests that the visual system simultaneously detects misalignments or gradients of orientation in the hyperacuity range at many positions in the visual field. The direction of the vernier offset, however, cannot be classified simultaneously in several stimuli, but requires serial search.

Robot Motion Vision Part II: Implementation
The idea of Fixation introduced a direct method for general recovery of shape and motion from images without using either feature correspondence or optical flow [1,2]. There are some parameters which have important effects on the performance of fixation method. However, the theory of fixation does not say anything about the autonomous and correct choice of those parameters. This paper presents ...
متن کاملExtension 3: Vision
A well-known anecdote relates how, sometime in 1966, the legendary Artificial Intelligence pioneer Marvin Minsky directed an undergraduate student to solve “the problem of computer vision” as a summer project (1). This anecdote is often resuscitated to illustrate how egregiously the difficulty of computational vision has been underestimated. Indeed, nearly forty years later, the discipline cont...
متن کاملReceptive Field Encoding Model for Dynamic Natural Vision
Introduction: Encoding models are used to predict human brain activity in response to sensory stimuli. The purpose of these models is to explain how sensory information represent in the brain. Convolutional neural networks trained by images are capable of encoding magnetic resonance imaging data of humans viewing natural images. Considering the hemodynamic response function, these networks are ...
متن کاملRobot Motion Vision Pait I: Theory
A direct method called fixation is introduced for solving the general motion vision problem, arbitrary motion relative to an arbitrary environment. This method results in a linear constraint equation which explicitly expresses the rotational velocity in terms of the translational velocity. The combination of this constraint equation with the Brightness-Change Constraint Equation solves the gene...

The Need to Utilize Chaos Management Techniques in Elementary School Preparedness Assessment Program M. H. Hassani Shalmaani, Ph.D.* One of the most important programs in the Ministry of Education is the health and academic preparedness assessment program. It is assumed that any assessment program is so dynamic and unpredictable that makes systematic planning impossible. Thi...
متن کاملDegree of F-irresolute function in (L, M)-fuzzy topological spaces
In this paper, we present a new vision for studying ${F}$-open, ${F}$-continuous, and ${F}$-irresolute function in $(L,M)$-fuzzy topological spaces based on the implication operation and $(L,M)$-fuzzy ${F}$-open operator cite{2}. These kinds of functions are generalized with their elementary properties to $(L,M)$-fuzzy topological spaces setting based on graded concepts. Moreover, a systematic ...
